Memories of Mickey by Mary M.
From the time we adopted Mickey from our local SPCA, we knew he was an “old soul.” Although he was supposed to be a playmate/friend to our youngest son, Mickey’s unwillingness to do anything typical dogs do (fetch, run, play with toys, etc.) made us wonder if we’d made a mistake. But, despite his lazy demeanor, we, and everyone who met him, fell in love with him. He was always so gentle and loved to just sit next to someone (practically on their lap) and get petted. Finding a sunny spot, either inside the house or out in the yard, was his favorite “activity.” His calmness served to relax all those who interacted with him - so he was the perfect companion after a long day at work. After nearly 12 years of having him in our family, we had to say goodbye to him in May 2025. He will be remembered and loved by everyone in the family.
